It was like Christmas, but not.
The line above, penned by James Franco, is the singular reason why I can never, ever, not-in-a-million-years take him seriously as a writer. (As a side note, if he wants to act, that’s fine with me. As another side note, I think he should stop doing visual art, too. Why? Because it sucks. I’m not kidding.)
That said, Mr. Franco’s movie version of Faulkner’s “As I Lay Dying” will probably be fine and, yes, I’ll probably see it. I loved the book and though movies rarely do great books justice, heck, I’ll give it a roll. But if I needed any additional proof that The Franco is a total wanker (and I really didn’t), all I had to do was see him here, on the film cover version of the book. Gah.
